More About
Allan Deas is a Scottish born illustrator and designer with over sixteen years experience in the design industry. He has worked with an impressive array of clients over the years covering a broad range of design disciplines including fashion, graphics, textiles & illustration.

After graduating in 1999 from Duncan of Jordanston Art school, Scotland with a degree in illustration & printmaking, he moved South to London and worked for many years as a graphic & textile designer in the fashion industry, working on everything from t-shirt designs & fabric patterns to logos & branding. Although working in many different areas during his career, illustration is where his real passion lies and where his true creativity comes alive with his own unique look.

Allan's bold style reflects fond memories of TV programmes & books from his childhood in the late 70's and 80's. This vintage inspiration juxtaposed with a more contemporary vibe & subject matter result in a highly original style where retro & current influence twist together in a playground of colour & character which bring his work to life. Among Allan's influences are classic TV shows including Mr. Ben, Pigeon Street & Crystal Tipps & Alistair; kaleidoscopic animation clips from Sesame Street; the books of illustrators Dick Bruna, David McKee & Richard Scarry and the animation by Terry Giliam for Monty Python, not to mention Heinz Edelmann's psychedelic work for The Beatles' Yellow Submarine!

Along with his clientele in the UK Allan has also worked with a varied list of international clients from as far flung as Australia, USA, France, Germany, Russia, Slovakia & South Africa and hopes to expand on this in the future. When not designing he enjoys ( in no particular order ) - photography, cooking, Lego, movies, parties, llamas, eating, an eclectic taste in music, nice design books, period dramas, vinyl figures, 'ghost' signs on old buildings, traveling, Bob Fosse dance moves ( watching and attempting! ), japanese food, pub quizzes, making playlists, maps, red wine, matchboxes, walking, rhubarb tart, laughing & cheese!

Allan is a member of The Association of Illustrators & The Mighty Pencil illustration collective.
He currently lives & works in Islington, London.
