Mythology Alphabet

A full alphabet based on the theme of mythology with each character representing a different diety or character from a range of cultures from Greek & Roman to Nordic, Mexican, Egyptian, Mesopotamian & Indian. Each one's name starting with the corresponding letter or number.
'Mythabet' is a self initiated & self promotional project where I created a fully illustrated alphabet around the theme of mythology. This was inspired by & in conjunction with design community driven challenge on instagram – ‘36 Days of Type’ where the participants should present a different design for a letter or number for each 36 days of the event.
I chose to theme this alphabet around mythology - hence the name 'Mythabet' - Each letter and number features a different character, deity or creature from various different mythologies or folklores including classics such as Greek, Roman & Egyptian to Norse to Pre Columbian, Central American, Mesopotamian & Indian amongst others.
Each figure coralates with the letter or number either with the assigned character starting with the coordinating letter or with the numbers associated with a story linking that character to the relevant numeral.
Keeping to a limited palete keeps the letters uniform and a running theme wich connects the collection. The aim was that each character of the alphabet would be decorative yet tell a story as well as sitting nicely with the complete set and that each letter can also stand alone as letter head or illustration in it’s own right.
The twenty-six letters all feature characters or creatures beginning with the same letter they represent whereas the numbers tie in with the character whether it be visually featuring the number or that the said number is linked in a more symbolic way.
Hopefully most are obvious but if there's any you can't guess you can check the glossary at the end for the full descriptions!
